GlobalProtect Legacy App Reviews

33 add

Love the new update.

New update to support the iPhone 6 and 6+ is so beautiful. No more bulky UI. :)

New update forces VPN

There are many times I do not want all my traffic to go over my works VPN. This update makes it impossible to disable it anymore. You probably do not want this update because of that, and now I have to find a way to disable my phone VPN connection yet still being able to connect to VPN on-demand.

Works great, but no ability to disable

The application works like a charm, but it really is a dealbreaker that I cant shut it off. Even if I shut off VPN in my phone settings, global protect turns right back on. Not cool. I dont want all of my phone traffic going through my work servers all the time. This MUST get fixed in the next update.

Cant Turn Off

It works well before this July 9th update, now I cant turn it off since I dont want all traffic go through vpn. Really dont understand why upgrade cancelled the Enable switch, it is not convenient at all.

Please add disable back in!

This app works great except for the fact you can disable it. I have to install/uninstall every time I use it. Ridiculous!

Turning off VPN

The VPN switch under Setting no longer works. There is another VPN switch under Settings/General that you can turn it off.

Great app for vegan cooks.

If you are a vegan, and you like to cook, this app is perfect for you. It teaches you how to prepare red meat and how to make a bong with old milk and eggs.

Impossible to disable.

If you didnt have to delete the app in order to restore phone function when (for whatever reason) VPN is unavailable it would be 5 stars. As it is, Im not precisely sure why you cannot disable the client but you cant.

Oh well...

PC version works, not on the iPad... There are so few options / settings that all you can do is accept the inevitable- it just doesnt work. I collected the debug files but the information is just a pile of meaningless programmatic garbage. Maybe next time.

Cant disable VPN

This is like the most poorly designed app ever. No doubt their VPN technology is great, but you will get the worst user experience with this app. You cant disable VPN, and when you press the "Disconnect" button (for whatever reason they have it) it will reconnect back within 1 second, automatically! Magic, isnt it? And if you remove your username and password so that it cannot connect automatically you will keep getting a pop up asking you to sign in. It gets annoying enough for you to uninstall the app. Please PAN, could you fix it?

Cant rate 0 stars

I never rate apps, but this one makes me rage. Im in IT and need this to work when Im on call and cant get to a computer. This will bother you non-stop every 5 seconds to connect if you disconnect. The popups prevent you from seeing the screen or switching apps so if you use 2 factor, you have to close the popup, activate 2 factor and hope that it pops back up in time. If you close the popup for 2 factor, you have to log in again. And start the cycle over again. The Cisco VPN client is 1000x better, no hassle, no nags, just works.

Terrible

As everyone said you cant disable this app. And when its not disconnects you loose internet connectivity.

Works perfect in My Setup

The App works as designed and as configured on your PAN firewall. Device connects quickly, able to access all remote network devices. Users that arent able to disconnect most likely are connecting to their VPN gateway that is configured for users to not be able to disconnect/disable VPN. This is typical for enterprise environments, where enterprise policy requires constant VPN connection. If VPN gateway is configured for on demand mode, then just hitting disconnect on the App ends the VPN session as designed. I have not tested two factor, so nothing to weigh on previous users experience.
